Importing sample data

When you install Property Hive for the first time, it will be completely blank. No data is added.

If you don't have a property import to configure or any real data to enter, we offer a quick and easy way to dynamically insert some sample data. This can be useful for when you want to test the features and functionality of Property Hive for demonstration or planning purposes.

When Property Hive is activated for the first time you'll be presented with a notification to import demo data:

If you've dismissed this or don't see it, you can also get to the same page from the left-hand menu of WordPress under 'Property Hive > Settings > Demo Data':

If the Demo Data feature isn't active, this can be first done under 'Property Hive > Settings > Features':

Then it's as simple as clicking the 'Generate Demo Data' button:

This will generate 10 random pieces of data in each section of Property Hive (properties, contacts, viewings etc).

Click this button as many times as you need to keep generating more data.

Deleting demo data

Once you've finished playing around with the demo data and are ready to move to real data, you can quickly delete the demo data.

  1. From the left hand menu of WordPress under 'Property Hive > Settings > Demo Data':

  2. Select the 'Delete Data' submenu item:

  3. Click the 'Delete Data' button:

Note that deleting data via this method will only delete demo data and will ignore any data inserted from another sources (i.e. entered manually or imported).
