Accessing the Printable Brochures settings

With the Printable Brochures add on feature enabled you can access the settings by navigating to 'Property Hive > Settings' from the left hand WordPress menu:

If you have Property Hive only mode enabled this will just be 'Settings' direct from the left hand WordPress menu:

If you don't see the 'Settings' submenu option available it could mean your user role doesn't have the right permissions as this is only available to administrators.

From there you should see a 'Printable Brochures' settings tab:

Click this to access the settings for this feature.

Settings explained

Control when the 'Print' button should appear on the property details page:

Always - Show the 'Print' button at all times on all properties

Only if no brochures uploaded to property record - This setting looks at whether the property in question has a brochure uploaded to the 'Media' tab. If it doesn't, only then will it show the 'Print' button.

Never - The 'Print' button will never be shown

Here you can choose the format of the output brochure:

HTML - The brochure will be output to the screen as a HTML webpage.

PDF - The brochure will be generated and output as a PDF file. You can choose between 2 different PDF libraries, wkhtmltopdf or dompdf.

Both have pros and cons:

wkhtmltopdf: needs to be installed on the server but tends to render templates better.

dompdf: better supported

The label of the button shown on the property details page. Defaults to 'Print Details'.

The add on comes with two ready-made layouts out of the box to choose from.

Clicking 'Preview' will pick a property at random and show you the property details within the selected layout.

Select which layout you would like use, or if you're interested in building your own, select 'Custom layout' and read our guide on how to create bespoke layouts.

If you've selected PDF as the output format you can control various aspects of the generated PDF using these settings, from orientation to page size.
